Tradition

A short overview of our company through the last 100 years:

During the 1860's Friedrich Benzing, an independent clock-maker, manufactured typical Black Forest wall clocks. In 1873 Jakob Benzing took over the company from his father Friedrich.
Jakob Benzing stayed in business of manufacturing wall clocks and started in the 80s the industrial manufacturing of special springs which were used for the striking mechanisms of the wall clocks.

The son of Jakob Benzing Friedrich Ernst Benzing build the first factory building in the Karlstrasse in 1897. These were also the years of new product develpoments such as the pigeon clock. The sport of pigeon racing spread through the years all over the world. In this time the mechanical watchmans clocks were integrated in the production program.

In 1902 the company was handed over to the son of Friedrich Ernst Benzing who again specialised in control clocks and time printers. After his death in 1942 the successors founded together a limited partnership company. Friedrich Ernst Benzing KG.
